The best thing about Southeast Asia: Smoothies

Southeast Asia has many wonderful aspects like its friendly people, relatively lower prices, temperate climate, and sunny beaches; but the best and most refreshing is the abundance of fresh, cold juice smoothies.

Imagine a hot, humid day in the sun with limited water. With sweat rolling down your face you see a stand of 10 different fresh fruits. Coconut, mango, banana, strawberry, dragon fruit, and many more.

The ripe fruit is put into a blender with some ice and soon you have a refreshing and healthy smoothie.

Having been to Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos, I can say these are essential for survival.

  • Should cost between $1-3 USD
  • Fruits are fresh
  • Flavors are delicious
  • Offsets over heating that occurs all year

When in SEA, make sure to incorporate these into your daily diet.

A similar option but more expensive are smoothie bowls or açaí bowls. These have similar benefits, except a higher price point.
