Luang Prabang: New modern cocktail lounge Lost in Baan

I am in Luang Prabang for 4 days – enough time to formulate an impression and am happily surprised.

The people are nice, city is clean, limited pollution and vehicle traffic (noise), and all of the buildings look crisp and welcoming.

Many of the accommodations appear newer with regular staff. Some are larger and on the Mekong river while others are smaller Homestays or hostels.

There is a Main Street parallel to the river with restaurants and shops. The food options are diverse and shops sell local goods and hiking/athletic apparel.

Along this main road was a sign to visit a lounge, Lost in Baan. It is 30m down a side road.

The lounge has a modern tropical exterior. Birds of paradise on the sides flank a short staircase up to a concrete deck with lounge chairs and sophisticated wood tables.

Whites, browns, and blacks boast an earthy escape with Orange doors and trim providing calming warmth.

I was immediately greeted and sat. The lounge offers creative cocktails and local food. There is a focus on refined creativity and presentation. For instance, they offer a black lemonade that includes charcoal.

As a result, the elevated offering has an increased price, relative to other restaurants or bars nearby.

Come find Lost in Baan if you are looking for a relaxing, modern experience with elevated cocktails and food. It is akin to lounges in larger cities like Bangkok, Singapore or Hong Kong.
