We have been traveling Italy for 4 weeks and are getting a little weary of the food and drinks.
The richness of the meats, cheeses, and sauces coupled with a lack of vegetables and scarcity of affordable contemporary cocktails made us yearn for a change.

Fortunately, we were able to find hidden gems in Florence that provided alternates to the routine: fantastic margaritas and delicious food.

We first stumbled across this place because of its 4.5 TripAdvisor rating and Social Media worthy cocktails. The frozen margaritas are extremely refreshing to neutralize the summer 100 degree heat. Those who want to celebrate can taste the plethora of artistic shots. Best yet there are Happy Hour prices. I much prefer a margarita (tequila) over Aperol Spritz. Our frozen and regular margaritas were €5 each. Normal Aperol Spritz are €6. Beware though, there are limited food options and you have to descend about 15-20 stairs. It is a fun place designed for adult beverages.

We had such a great experience at the first place, we decided to try another Mexican restaurant with happy hour and dinner. To our surprise, this location is operated by the first. Expansion is a good indication of great offering and service. This location is a large restaurant with an upstairs. It has the same delicious drinks but with traditional Mexican entre options. Tacos, Burritos, Nachos etc. We chose the Taco Tuesday deal for €13 which includes any non-special margarita and set of 3 tacos. Usually the tacos are €10. The happy hour Hoegarden beer was gigantic, like a liter, and for €5. At the grocery station a normal glass bottle is more than €2.

These were happy finds and a refreshing accident. We definitely recommend both for the great experience, shelter from heat, and financial value.
